"The Super Berry Power Shake" - Great name of course!...
Why would I give it such a name? Because its full of all kinds of berries, and full of POWER!
Raspberries, Strawberries, Blueberries, and Blackberries, with Almonds, Protein, Coconut Milk, Super seed mix - Milled linseed, Hempseeds, & Chia Seeds!
What does it all do?
"Work like magic on wrinkles. They can be used as a natural face mask. They also protect the skin against the sun's rays. The antioxidant powers of vitamin C effectively reduce the age spots and discoloration."
Help with functioning of the nervous and immune systems, and reduces the risk of gout, arthritis, and cancer. Also supposed to be great at reducing the risk of eye associated ailments.
I've said a lot on these little stars already but this is taken from (authoritynutrition.com) and it sums them up pretty well:
" Blueberries are among the most nutrient dense berries. A 1 cup serving (148 grams) of blueberries contains:
Calorie for calorie, this makes them an excellent source of several important nutrients. "
You've gotta love blueberries- eat them now!
"Much like spinach, raisins, apples, plums and grapes, blackberries are rich in bioflavonoids and Vitamin C, but other nutritional benefits include a very low sodium count and having only 62 calories to a cup. The dark blue colour ensures blackberries have one of the highest antioxidant levels of all fruits."
"Almonds contain lots of healthy fats, fiber, protein, magnesium and vitamin E. The health benefits of almonds include lower blood sugar levels, reduced blood pressure and lower cholesterol levels. They can also reduce hunger and promote weight loss."
"Nutritional highlights. Coconuts are highly nutritious and rich in fibre, vitamins C, E, B1, B3, B5 and B6 and minerals including iron, selenium, sodium, calcium, magnesium and phosphorous. Unlike cow's milk, coconut milk is lactose free so can be used as a milk substitute by those with lactose intolerance."
I love coconut milk and use it a lot! I would definitley reccomend you try it out!
Flaxseeds (also called linseeds) are a rich source of micronutrients, fibre, manganese, vitamin B1, and the essential fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid, also known as ALA or omega-3.
The seeds come from flax, one of the oldest fiber crops in the world - known to have been cultivated in ancient Egypt and China.
"Hemp Seeds are a gift of nature. They are the most nutritious seed in the world. Hemp Seeds are a complete protein. They have the most concentrated balance of proteins, essential fats, vitamins and enzymes combined with a relative absence of sugar, starches and saturated fats. Hemp Seeds are one of nature's perfect foods - a Super Food. This is one of the most potent foods available, supporting optimal health and well being, for life. Raw hemp provides a broad spectrum of health benefits, including: weight loss, increased and sustained energy, rapid recovery from disease or injury, lowered cholesterol and blood pressure, reduced inflammation, improvement in circulation and immune system as well as natural blood sugar control."
“Chia” is the ancient Mayan word for “strength.” That being said, they pack a punch nutrtionally gram for gram.
"A 24 gram serving contains:
It contains all eight essential amino acids and a host of trace minerals and micronutrients. To put it in easy comparative terms, each 2 tbsp serving of chia offers:
I was skeptical about chia seeds when I first had them, now I always add them to my shakes, the energy you get from a good serving is unreal.
Try them out!
So all in all, this super berry blast shake adds up to be a pretty potent cocktail for super success!
And it tastes amazing!
Give it a shot,
