Here's number 5 in the Juicing Smoothie series: "The Green Monster"
In here we have: Kale, Spinach, Brocolli, Apples, Pears, Green Beans
All kinds of green vegetables, those which we don't eat enough of!
This ones designed to add that extra nutrition to your diet in a low calorie fashion, yes this won't taste great, but it will sure make you feel great if consumed on a regular basis!
The ingredients in this one have some great benefits when consumed, here are a few examples:
Low in calories, high in fibre, zero fat, filled with so many nutrients, vitamins, folate and magnesium as well as: Iron, Vitamin A, Vitamin K, Vitamin C, Its great for the cardiovascular system.
Low in fat and even lower in cholesterol, spinach is high in niacin and zinc, as well as protein, fiber, vitamins A, C, E and K, (see a pattern yet?), thiamin, vitamin B6, folate, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, copper, and manganese.
In other word, it’s loaded with good things for every part of your body!
"Abundant flavonoids in spinach act as antioxidants to keep cholesterol from oxidizing and protect your body from free radicals, particularly in the colon.
The folate in spinach is good for your healthy cardiovascular system, and magnesium helps lower high blood pressure. Studies also have shown that spinach helps maintain your vigorous brain function, memory and mental clarity."
Again in similar fashion: Broccoli is a great source of vitamins K and C, a good source of folate (folic acid) and also provides potassium, fiber. Great on detoxifying the body, it has anti-inflamitory uses too!
Good Ol' Apples, "An apple won’t replace your toothbrush, but biting and chewing an apple stimulates the production of saliva in your mouth, reducing tooth decay by lowering the levels of bacteria."
Apples are high in fiber, vitamin C, and various antioxidants.
They are high in fructose, so don't eat a whole bag at once!
One of the most underated fruits in my opinion, not only are they massively refreshing, they are packed full of good stuff!
"Many studies have suggested that increasing consumption of plant foods like pears decreases the risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and overall mortality while promoting a healthy complexion, increased energy, and a lower weight."
"These nutrient-packed beans also provide benefits to the health of your eyes and bones, while regulating your digestive processes.
They have also been shown to reduce the risk of birth defects for pregnant women. This low-calorie dietary choice is great for acquiring vitamins and minerals without adding any unwanted pounds!"
I love green beans, they are full of (All of the above vitamins) and are a good source of Calcium, Silicon, Iron, Manganaese , Potassium, and Copper.
Clearly this is a "monster" of a great shake for you and your body!
