Why we all need plenty of water in our lives....
We all know that drinking water every day is something we should have on our to-do list. But it seems that too many of us let it slide...
Not drinking enough water is never, ever, ever, EVER a good idea! It can, and will, have a negative impact on our lives, our health and our wellbeing
But what effects can it have?
As our body is made up of over 60% water and we lose around 2.4 litres every day (more if depending upon your environment, training habits etc), you can see just why you need to make sure it features in your daily diet.
I believe that the best way to encourage people to drink more water is to show them all the benefits that can be found in that glass of clear liquid. So, here are some of the reasons why we should all drink plenty of water each, and every day.
1. It keeps you cool
Think about how you cool down on a hot day. Do you reach for a cold glass of water? Water regulates the temperature in your body, making you feel cooler when the temperatures around you rise.
2. It cushions your important organs
Your brain is the most important organ in your body. Not only is it made from 70 percent water (Notice you can't concentrate & get headaches when dehydrated?), but water also protects both your brain and spinal cord making sure that both of these important parts of your body are properly cushioned.
3. Not to mention your joints
It isn’t just your organs that need some water cushioning, your joints do too. In fact, they rely on water to surround them and make sure that any impact doesn’t have an effect. Not drinking enough water could lead to your joints feeling a little stiff.
4. It flushes through all the waste
The last thing you want is your body not being able to remove waste. Water is the ideal way to flush it through. This removes urine and bowel material. Making sure that it doesn’t build up and cause a negative impact.
5. Gives you moister skin
If you fail to drink enough water every day, then you are likely to see the effects on your skin. Skin that is lacking in water will be dry, flaky and tight. It may also show the signs of ageing more.
6. Stops dehydration
Dehydration is a collection of signs and symptoms that your body is lacking in water content. You know when you are feeling dehydrated when you have some of the following symptoms:
It is important, if you are showing any of these signs that you grab yourself a big glass of water.
By indulging your body and topping up its water level, you will soon start to feel much better, not to mention hydrated too.
